在首届数字中国建设峰会开幕之际，中共中央总书记、国家主席、中央军委主席习近平发来贺信，向峰会的召开表示衷心的祝贺，向出席会议的各界人士表示热烈的欢迎。
习近平在贺信中指出，当今世界，信息技术创新日新月异，数字化、网络化、智能化深入发展，在推动经济社会发展、促进国家治理体系和治理能力现代化、满足人民日益增长的美好生活需要方面发挥着越来越重要的作用。
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to the opening ceremony of the first Digital China Summit, which is underway in Fuzhou, capital of southeast China's Fujian Province.
In his message, Xi highlighted the importance of innovation in information technology and called for a faster construction of a "digital China."
President Xi said innovation plays an important role in promoting economic development and upgrading the country’s governance system and capabilities.
He’s called for the development of new driving forces through informatization. He also expressed the hope that the event will exchange views on the latest development in digital economy and improve the building of a smart society.

本届峰会以“以信息化驱动现代化，加快建设数字中国”为主题，邀请了293家国内顶尖科技公司参展，展示我国电子政务和数字经济发展最新成果，交流数字中国建设体会和看法。
中央广播电视总台演播室也在峰会惊艳亮相，不仅为央视、央广、国际在线三台提供大小屏融媒体报道功能，同时借首届数字中国建设峰会，向业界和社会展示中央广播电视总台，利用最新的互联网技术和数字技术，建设新媒体平台、融媒体旗舰的最新探索和发展成果。
The three-day summit, held under the theme "Facilitating information-driven development and a digitalized China", has invited 293 domestic leading technology companies and over 100 media outlets.
China Media Group, a new broadcasting platform consisting of China Central Television (CCTV), China National Radio (CNR), China Radio International (CRI) and China Global Television Network (CGTN), will unveil its studio at the event, providing news coverage via TV and mobile phones.
The studio is also a window to show the public the latest achievements the newly-formed group has made as it strives to build a new media platform and convergence center using the latest Internet and digital technologies.
The three-day summit will display the latest achievements on e-government and digital economy, such as face recognition and voice recognition technologies.
The summit has a main forum and several sub-forums, covering topics from e-government, digital economy, smart society, new smart cities, big data, to digital Fujian, the digital Maritime Silk Road and the Internet of things.
